Those are just some of the thoughts you may be going through as you experience anxiety. Anxiety is an excessive worry that can take a lot of time of your day and night. Anxiety feels like a spiral. Anxiety is urgent, scary and overwhelming. Anxiety is a rabbit hole.

Get to know your anxiety. Name it. Learn to recognize it. Find what starts your anxiety. What is your anxiety trying to protect you from? What are you avoiding?

understand

Anxiety is your body reacting to things that have not happened and possibly will never happen. Our minds are powerful, and imagining and thinking about distressing events can stress our nervous system. So even though you may be lying in your bed in your safe home, you feel as if things are not safe and need your immediate attention.

feel

Feel your fears. Feel feelings that you may be avoiding with anxiety. Cry, swear, yell, write. Address things that need to be addressed.

heal

Learn ways to cope with anxiety. Learn about yourself and your future. Accept the unknown as a part of life. 

grow

Practice. Practice. Practice.

Decide what to do with all the free time you gain when you manage your anxiety.
